Rundfunksendern, insbesondere die Rolle von RTML (Radio Télévision des Milles
Collines) bei den Vorkommnissen von 1994 oft untersucht worden. Doch welche
Rolle nahmen die Medien in den sudanesischen Konflikten ein? In dieser Arbeit soll
der südsudanesische Konflikt und die Rolle der Medien, insbesondere jene des
Radios näher beleuchtet werden. Dafür werde ich die Fallstudie „The a number of Voices
of Sudanese Airspace“ von Wendy James als Grundlage nehmen. Hierbei werde ich
auch die Entwicklung der Medien im Sudan skizzieren sowie einen Blick auf andere
afrikanische Länder, vorrangig Ruanda, Burundi und die Demokratische Republik
Kongo, werfen.
