Die vorliegende Studie befasst sich mit der Frage, welche kunsttherapeutischen Maßnahmen zur Intervention der psychosomatischen Erkrankung Anorexia nervosa in Betracht gezogen werden können. Mit dem Begriff Anorexia nervosa (im Folgenden AN abgekürzt) bezeichnet guy eine shape der Essstörung neben Bulimia nervosa und Adipositas, die sehr weit verbreitet ist. Sie ist u. a. gekennzeichnet durch ein starkes Untergewicht, das durch eine Gewichtsabnahme oder das Ausbleiben der erwartbaren Gewichtszunahme in der Pubertät entstanden ist. Trotz des offensichtlichen Untergewichts der betroffenen Mädchen und Frauen besteht eine starke Angst davor, zu dick zu werden. Da der gesamte Körper oder einzelne Körperteile als zu dick erlebt werden, wird aus Angst vor einer Gewichtszunahme die Nahrungsaufnahme trotz des bestehenden Untergewichts weiter eingeschränkt. Zentrale Aspekte im Zusammenhang mit der Störung AN sind Selbstbewusstsein, Kontrolle und Gefühlswahrnehmung. Diese Studie stellt die Body-Image-Störung als Merkmal der AN ins Zentrum, die als die wichtigste Ursache der Entstehung von AN betrachtete. Demzufolge ist die 'realistische Vorstellung vom eigenen Körper eine Vorbedingung zur Genesung'. Der deutsche Begriff Körpererfahrung und der englische Begriff Body-Image enthalten sowohl die perzeptiv-kognitive Komponente als auch die emotional-affektive Komponente, additionally Körperschema und Körperbild. Dementsprechend wird in der deutschen Literatur auch zwischen Körperschema- und Körperbildstörungen differenziert, während in der englischen Literatur der Oberbegriff 'Body-Image-Disturbance' verwendet wird. Da die Studie auf Störungen beider Komponenten eingeht, wird der Begriff Body-Image-Störung in der vorliegenden Arbeit als Oberbegriff verwendet. Die vorliegende Studie konzentriert sich auf die Objektbeziehungstheorie, eine Richtung innerhalb des psychoanalytischen Erklärungsansatzes. Der Ansatz wird hier bevorzugt, da das Verhalten des Menschen vollständig aus den sozialen Zusammenhängen - und zwar schon von sort an - erklärt wird. Die Kunsttherapie wird hier als Interventionsform vorgestellt, da sie ermöglicht, die der Krankheit zugrunde liegenden Konflikte als denkbare Ursache in besonderer shape auszudrücken. Da die Symptomatik der AN aus objektbeziehungstheoretischer Sicht mehr als nur die Nahrungsverweigerung beinhaltet und einen Sinn erfüllt, soll seitens der Therapeutin und der Patientin ein vertieftes Symptomverständnis erreicht werden, um die Body-Image-Störung verbessern bzw. heilen zu können.
